Married man joins priesthood
BUFFALO, N.Y. — Bishop Richard Malone has welcomed another priest into the Diocese of Buffalo, and this time, you may be surprised by his background.
Father John Cornelius was ordained by Bishop Malone Saturday at the Immaculate Conception Church in Wellsville.
Father Cornelius, a married father of three, converted to Catholicism two years ago.
He was ordained as a transitional deacon back in November, and has served at a parish in Almond for the past few months.
After his ordination, he will lead services at a church near Rochester.
