BUFFALO, N.Y. — A man convicted Wednesday of strangling and assaulting his pregnant ex-girlfriend will be sentenced in March.

The Erie County District Attorney's office says Eli Casillas, 29, was found guilty in State Supreme court of the December 2011 strangulation and assault of his former girlfriend, who was 39 weeks pregnant at the time.

Because he has a prior felony conviction, Casillas is in custody and faces up to 14 years in state prison.

His sentencing is scheduled for March 14th.
