CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. — After fire damaged the Depew Boys and Girls club last month, local businesses helped raise money to rebuild it with a video game tournament Friday evening.

Dozens of gamers came to Macaroon's bar in Cheektowaga for a Tecmo Super Bowl tournament, with proceeds benefiting the Boys and Girls club.

Players had the chance to win a beer fridge and one-of-a-kind trophy at the event, which was hosted by Oogie Games and 103.3 the edge.

Kevin McMullen of Oogie Games said, "We wanted to make sure that we gave back to the community and this event we raised over $500 for the Boys and Girls club of Depew".

Officials say the cost to rebuild the club could reach hundreds of thousands of dollars.
