"Seven Chances" charity assists special young girl

"Seven Chances" charity assists special young girl
BUFFALO, NY -- One local charity gave an 8-year-old and her family a reason to smile Saturday evening.

Seven Chances, a group that helps people in need, hosted a benefit for Annie Leeds, a young girl with several medical conditions, including partial blindness and deafness.

Hundreds attended the fundraiser. Proceeds will go toward Annie's mounting medical bills. Her family has had to travel as far as New York City for medical care. Relatives said the assistance they receive from Seven Chances is a blessing.

Sean Leeds, Annie's father, said, "They can step in, and just try and facilitate special things. Maybe you didn't even ask for it, maybe they didn't even know you needed it, maybe they thought outside the box and said you know what this would really help your family out, and you're thinking yes it would, and they make it happen".

A former local teacher with kidney ailments will also be helped by Seven Chances.
