Accused drug kingpin pleads not guilty

Accused drug kingpin pleads not guilty
BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The man police say is responsible for the largest heroin ring in Buffalo history went before a State Supreme Court Justice Tuesday morning to answer the charges against him.

Eury Rodriguez, 33, of Queens pleaded not guilty to operating as a major trafficker, criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal sale of a controlled substance, and conspiracy.

State Police say Rodriguez was a major supplier of heroin from the Bronx to Buffalo, and they believe he's responsible for moving more than seven kilos of the drug with an estimated street value of $3.5 million.

Rodriguez was arrested Thursday after being named in a 51-count indictment back in March of 2011.

A pre-trial hearing is scheduled for February 27, 2013.
