Chautauqua County Executive Greg Edwards has not ruled out a possible run for governor. It comes after the head of the state's Republican Party suggested Wednesday night that he'd be a good candidate.
In an interview with Capital Tonight's Liz Benjamin, state GOP chair Ed Cox insisted the Republican Party would field a challenger to Governor Cuomo next year, and that Edwards could be the party's choice.
Edwards wouldn't say if he will be running, but he is showing interest.
"Those who know me know that I really do enjoy connecting with people and talking to people. I still believe the solutions to New York challenges are in Albany," said Edwards.
Edwards gained statewide attention when he was chosen as Carl Paladino's running mate during the last gubernatorial election.
