Man arraigned for New Year's Day shooting
BUFFALO, N.Y. — A 22-year-old man was arraigned Friday morning on charges of attempted murder following a New Year's Day shooting in Buffalo.

According to the Erie County District Attorney's Office, Kevin Miller, also known as Booker, faces charges of attempted murder, assault, and criminal possession.

Police say Miller shot Private 1st Class Maynard Vanever on Bailey Avenue on January 1st.

If convicted, he faces up to 40 years in prison.

Kevin's brother, Keyon Miller and his aunt, Monique Wirt, are accused of offering false and misleading testimony in the case and have been charged with perjury. Wirt faces one year in prison while Miller faces seven years behind bars.
