BUFFALO, NY- Buffalo's Dyngus Day festival organizers brought their tongue-in-cheek, "Party-Pooper-Cooper" shame campaign to the Broadway Market Saturday.

They were passing a petition to show Anderson Cooper the local support that exists for the festival, which some people thought he mocked on his show last year after he laughed during some highlights.

Organizers planned on crowning Cooper the festival's first "Pussy Willow Prince," but their leading man has said he won't attend due to a scheduling conflict. Festival organizer's say many people see the humor in the campaign.

"We want Anderson Cooper to come to Buffalo not just for Dyngus Day, but to hear the story of Buffalo. The story of Buffalo is one of hope, reinvention," Dyngus Day Organizer, Eddie Dobosiewicz told YNN. "A story of success, and a failure, and success again," he said.

Dyngus Day falls on the day after Easter, which this year is April first.
