BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Veterans Association Hospital in Buffalo was abuzz with Valentine's Day activity as part of the 35th annual National Salute to Veteran Patients program.
Volunteers, dignitaries, and local celebrities passed out valentines and warm wishes to veterans receiving care at the hospital.
Hospital officials say local grade school students made the thousands of valentines that were displayed and distributed.
"This is probably the best day every year, for all of us at the V.A, because it such an uplifting day to thank our veterans and also to see how much the community really cares," said Evangeline Conley, WNY Veterans Association spokesperson.
Conley said this is a day to ensure veterans know they are loved and their service is appreciated.
