Police in Tonawanda investigate robbery that began with online posting
TONAWANDA, N.Y. — City of Tonawanda police are investigating a robbery involving the website Craigslist.
According to detectives, a man answered an ad looking for an iPhone 5 buyer on the website and arranged to meet with the alleged seller Sunday night near the Tonawanda Housing Authority.
When the victim arrived, he was jumped by two men, while another stood by and watched.
The victim's iPhone 3 was stolen before the attackers fled the scene.
