Two Hurt in South Buffalo Fire

BUFFALO -- A firefighter and resident were hurt in a 2-alarm fire in South Buffalo early Saturday morning. The fire started in a home on Cazenovia Street and damaged three houses.
Fire officials say the fire started around 4:30 a.m. at the home at 175 Cazenovia Street. Upon arrival, firefighters quickly called a 2nd alarm for more help.
Buffalo Fire Commisioner Garnell Whitfield said one person was home at the time the fire started. They were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation. A Buffalo firefighter was also taken to the hospital after suffering a shoulder injury.
Commissioner Whitfield said the fire was the fourth 2-alarm fire in 2 days in the city.
The cause of the Cazenovia St. fire is under investigation.
